Today is MacGyver’s birthday. I had him convinced that I ordered a parade for him but then we turned on the news and he realized that it is also Martin Luther King, Jr day.

So, I guess I have to figure out a present now. We were in Nokomis for the weekend. I got to run on the Legacy Trail which you know I love. I also wore one of my favorite pair of running pants.

I got those at JCPenney’s for under 20 bucks and they fit perfectly. I highly recommend them. I noticed the same brand has a pair with a side pocket so I might have to get those as well.
And speaking of running, last week I ran 37 miles in 5 days. I kept my long run at 10 miles on Saturday and I ran 6 on Sunday. I ran 7 miles 3 days during the week and I took 2 days off. And by taking two days off, I mean I sat on the sofa and froze my tush off because it was cold AF last week much like it is today.
Also, when I looked at my fitbit stats, I realized that on those two days, I walked less than 6,000 steps in TWO DAYS and that included walking the dogs.

I have two new things to show you. First, I got my nails done on Friday.

I’m not typically a glitter nail person but I love this color and it’s so fun. I also realized that I prefer shorter nails so I always get her to cut them down. It makes my life so much easier. See: lazy
And the second thing, do you remember the old china hutch that I repurposed into a media cabinet?

Well, I had taken the two doors off and I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with them so I took them back to Clearwater and MacGyver and I managed to get the inside portion of the doors out which was NOT easy. Then we got some clear glass and I had some stained glass spray paint so I painted them and now it looks like this:

I wanted to make actual stained glass doors for the cabinet but unfortunately it would have made the doors too heavy so we opted to go with painted glass and I’m okay with it. What do you think?
After seeing everyone else’s photos, I broke down and did the 10 year challenge. I know, I’m seriously late to the party but that’s how I do.
Here’s me and Colin Hay at his concert in Clearwater ten or eleven years ago.

And I tried to recreate the same picture in my kitchen but I didn’t know how to get a hold of Colin or his people, so the 10 years later is not all that stellar plus it’s 10 years later and you know, age.

This is crazy and I have to show you. Did you happen to see the video of the shoplifting couple who got caught and had their two babies in the car? One was a year old and the other one was around two, and y’all the video of that sweet faced two year old walking toward the police just killed me. And let me just say, the police were super sweet and kind to that child, what killed me is that she was emulating her parents and that’s just sad because we are what we learn. I hope the parents learned a lesson. For the sake of that baby.
Here’s a few obligatory Hank and Boomer pics for you to ooh and aah over and I’m gonna go celebrate with MacGyver.

What did you do this weekend?
Do you have to work today or did you get the day off for MacGyver’s birthday?
