I am in heaven, seriously. I woke up this morning to this:
I’m pretty sure this is the coldest day that we’ve had in almost a year and it did not disappoint. It was glorious.
Starting the day off with cooler temperatures was just the beginning of great things because my plank this morning for the #planksgiving challenge also went quite well.
Three and half minutes! I know, right? Crazy.
And then my run went very well. Seven miles this morning at a fairly easy pace, it felt nice and comfortable and I loved it. It was a nice change from the humidity and light rain of Sunday morning and the heat of Friday morning. I’ll take this weather any day.
Over the weekend I didn’t run much. In fact, I didn’t do much working out at all but if you count all the shopping I did with my mom, I probably ran the equivalent of 4 or 5 marathons. My mom, on the other hand probably ran a few ultras because she is the Dean Karnazes of shopping.
After doing some kind of shopping every single day for the last week, I needed a break. Mom kept going though because she never gets tired of it. With all that energy I was really excited to see how well she would do in the Turket Trot this year but both she and the kid have opted not to do it.
The kid doesn’t want to commit because he may go out the night before and therefore he doesn’t want to have to get up early and even though I offered to put coupons on the finish line and lots of Kohl’s cash and Macy’s rewards, mom said no.
And Mom has made it perfectly clear that she wants to do dinner early so that she can get ready for shopping after 6PM on Thanksgiving day. There is no shame in her game.
However, I am running the Turkey Trot and come hell or high water or a flash sale at Macy’s, I’ll be there.
Are you running on Thanksgiving day?
Will you be shopping on Thanksgiving day? How about black Friday?
