Hey y’all, happy Thursday!
***Disclaimer: This post is a review for Vega Sport. I was given the opportunity to participate in this review through my Sweat Pink ambassadorship and the #FuelYourBetter Campaign and I was provided with a box of Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer to try for the purpose of this review. I received no other compensation for this review and the opinions expressed about the product are 100% mine and my opinions, as always, are honest and unbiased.***
Remember how I said I had something new to tell you about? Well the exciting thing that I’ve been alluding to for several post is Vega Sport and the #FuelYourBetter campaign. I was lucky enough to be chosen to review one of their products through my Sweat Pink Ambassadorship and I really want to tell you what I think about it.
If you’re new to the blog you may not know this, but I suffered from a pretty serious case of the ‘dead butt syndrome’ earlier this year. In April it finally forced me to take quite a few weeks off and I also had to opt out of some races. I was not a happy camper. Okay, let’s just be frank and honest here, I was a beeyotch and even my dogs wanted to run away, but thankfully, I got better. Unfortunately, I also lost some of my endurance and stamina. It’s been a nightmare trying to get it back and I won’t lie, sometimes running just plain sucked.
So, I was pretty excited when I was chosen to review a product for Vega Sport. I had heard a lot about them and I really, really wanted to try their products. Fortunately as part of the #FuelYourBetter campaign I was given the option to choose which product I wanted to review.
Part of the reason my endurance and stamina is low is because I really don’t like to eat anything before I run in the morning, so I really wanted to try the Vega Sport Pre Workout Energizer.
From the Vega Sport website:
Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer is a pre-workout drink mix sporting a unique blend of 13 synergistic plant-based performance-improving ingredients, like green tea, yerba mate, coconut oil and rhodiola, specifically selected to:
• Provide immediate and sustained energy
• Increase endurance, aerobic and anaerobic capacity
• Enhance mental focus and recovery
I like the fact that Vega Sport uses all natural, plant-based products. I also like the fact that it’s so easy, all I had to do was mix the product with 8 oz. of water and drink it 20 minutes before my workout. Easy Peasy! It also comes in two flavors, Lemon-Lime and Acai Berry, I chose the Acai Berry and I really liked it.
Mixing the product was easy enough but it did seem to take a bit longer to completely dissolve than some powders, but that was hardly an issue. The taste was surprisingly really good and I’m pretty picky so that’s a big bonus in my book.
In my opinion, what makes this product so interesting is that is has two types of carbohydrates to provide both instant and slower burning fuel. That’s basically the kick in the butt I need to get going and then the fuel I need to keep going instead of calling it quits at mile 2 and crying like a baby and then calling MacGyver to come get my sorry butt and take me home. This maybe only happened once by the way…
The best part is that it actually worked! I’ve taken the product for 6 days in a row now and every single day I have had energy left at the end of my run. I haven’t used it for a run over 6 miles yet but I plan on doing that very soon, (as soon as the sun dies…kidding!) I will tell you this though, on the second day that I used it, I ran 5 miles at a pretty good speed in wicked humidity. I came home, took the dogs for a one mile walk and then landscaped my yard for 4 and half hours. I had energy and stamina galore but no anxiousness or anxiety like you would get from some other products on the market. If a jittery buzz is what you’re looking for this is not the product for you.
I love that I got the chance to use this while my Mom is here too because she happens to be an Olympic Champion, (in shopping), and I can usually never keep up with her. She’s consistently captured the Gold medal for like 50 years or so and no one’s come close to her record. What? You didn’t know shopping was an Olympic sport? Okay, okay, it’s not, but she is a firecracker and keeping up with her is hard-core. (That’s why I have hidden all of the Vega Sport Pre-Workout Energizer from her, she doesn’t need it, trust me, but I do!)
But seriously, if you want a good natural source of energy to assist you with intensity and endurance during your workout, you should try it out and get #vegafueled. You can find out more about Vega Sport here and you can also locate stores that carry the products. As far as pricing goes, it is a little pricey at $29.99 for 12 packs but I think it’s worth it and I will definitely be purchasing more as well as some additional products.
So tell me,
