Getting to the bottom of things, literally

After going to the eye doctor on Monday and after my eyes were no longer dilated, I put my contact lenses back in.  I just want to mention that my coconut oil and my contact lens solution look very similar.  They are both clear bottles with blue writing, which is probably why I didn’t realize I had mistaken one for the other until my eyes started to burn.

It was so much fun.

Do you know what’s even more fun?  What I’m doing tomorrow…

Well, I don’t remember ever wearing anything so ugly but the doctor says I’m ready so I guess I am.

Actually, even better than a colonoscopy, I’m also having an endoscopy at the same time, oh the joy!  I’ll be exceptionally glad when all this is over.  Seriously.

I’ll be glad when the doctors finally figure out what’s going on but I’m also happy to forgo this procedure if I could.

Since you can’t eat anything the day leading up those two procedures, I’ve decided not to run today. Because I”m always hungry anyway but if I run it’ll be twofold.

Wish me luck for tomorrow.

The best diet ever….a colonoscopy

Good morning from Nokomis and guess what?  It’s that time of year.  Inspector Gadget and the family are here.  I haven’t taken any pictures yet but I’ll post some soon.

I did take a picture of a really cool pie bird that I got at an estate sale last Friday.

Also on Friday I had my long awaited visit with the gastroenterologist.  She went over my CT scan of last year and we talked about my diet and the recent problems I’ve been having and then she rocked my world.

“Start eating gluten again”, she said.

Wait what?

But, I thought I was supposed to avoid gluten at all costs so I was really confused.  And then I asked her if she thought the diagnosis was wrong and that I can eat gluten.  But no, my life is never that easy.

I am scheduled for a colonoscopy and endoscopy with tissue biopsies in mid-September and in order to get the proper diagnosis they need me to consume some gluten.  Some gluten, not all the gluten.

And because my day always gets better, she gave me the instructions for the prep.  Oh, the prep.  I mean seriously, if you’ve ever had a colonoscopy, then you understand completely.

Most Accurate

It’s supposed to rain today so after a bit of work, we’re gonna do some shopping.  I’ll be back tomorrow with some pictures.  Of my family, in case you were wondering.

How was your weekend?
