Color Me Rad 5K Giveaway- Enter Now!

Since running the Sarasota Half Marathon I’ve scaled back on my running a bit, partially because it’s nearing summer and it’s getting warmer but mostly because my body and my mind needed a little break. In case you didn’t know it, I happen to be a bit of a perfectionist and I also have a touch of O.C.D. Okay, a little more than a touch but the point is because of these things I tend to take my running quite serious. Too serious sometimes.

Recently, through the Tampa Bay Bloggers, I was offered the chance to run in the Color Me Rad 5K in Tampa on April 18th and while this is a race I have always wanted to do, it presented me with another challenge. I was going to be running for fun and not trying for a PR.  To tell you the truth, this made me want to do it even more!

I think Color Me Rad is going to be a blast and I wanted to share the experience with my friends so this year I’ll be running with my little friend Jayde, my friend Lori, and her daughter Jen. All three of them are fairly new to running and really starting to enjoy it and I think this is going to be the perfect venue for them. What a great way to fall in love with running, right? Or to fall back in love with it, in my case.

Color Me Rad is kid friendly, walker friendly, and this year they have 8 color stations. EIGHT! That’s more than any other color race and it’s all gluten free. They also give you some pretty cool swag including free photos, an awesome T-shirt and these rockin knee high socks, hollah!

I’m so excited about this event. You start out in your whitest of white and throughout the run, the race volunteers coat you with liquids, powders and gels of color and you finish looking like a Jackson Pollock painting. After the run, there’s a party with music and food! It’s going to be so much fun and I plan on taking a ton of pictures!

I wish I could bring everyone with me but since I can’t, here is a code that you can use to get 40% off registration. Just click on the image to register.

And because I think this is a race everyone should run I’m going to give away 2 race entries to two people! If you win an entry, you’ll also win a second one and you can share this awesome adventure with one of your friends. Enter below and I’ll be announcing the winners on Friday, April 10th.

(This is for the Color Me Rad Tampa race only.)

Good Luck!

The cure to curb snacking and overeating? I think I found it.

mealenders candy

So y’all know I love my sweets. I’m a big snacker, especially in-between meals so when I heard about the opportunity to try MealEnders, ‘The Antidote to Overeating’ as a #sweatpink ambassador, I jumped at the chance. I don’t do a lot of product reviews but if there happens to be a product out there that could help me stop that constant snacking, I seriously wanted to give it a try.

In a nutshell, MealEnders is a little candy that comes in 4 flavors, citrus, cinnamon, mocha and chocolate mint. After eating a meal, you pop a candy in your mouth and it helps you to stop snacking and overeating. Sounds pretty awesome right?

Yes, but how does it work?

MealEnders is a candy with 2 very different layers. The first layer is sweet and creamy and the inside layer is cool and tingly. It works on 3 different levels, behavioral, sensory and psychological.

Taken from the MealEnders website.

From a behavioral standpoint, it fills the 20 minute gap that a typical person has before they begin to feel full after eating. It also creates a pause in your eating patterns so you can develop healthier behaviors.

From a sensory standpoint, the sweet outer coating satisfies your craving for dessert and the cool, tingly inner flavor helps to decrease cravings. It also engages the trigeminal nerve which distracts your mind from overeating.

Psychologically, it gives you a sense of control and helps you to develop healthier eating habits.

After a meal or anytime you want to snack, you pop a MealEnder into your mouth and then you suck on it but don’t bite into it. The key is to savor the flavor.

And there is no need to worry, because they’re safe. They are FDA regulated, have only 15 calories, 2 grams of sugar, are low-fat, gluten-free and they’re kosher. They also contain no high fructose corn syrup or msg.

Of course, what y’all really want to know is does it work?

The simple answer is yes. It did work for me. I used the MealEnders after eating and at times when I typically want to snack, (while driving and working on the computer). I was worried that I wouldn’t like the taste but I actually really like the cinnamon and the citrus a lot. The mocha flavor is good, but not my favorite and because I really don’t like mint, the chocolate mint was not the biggest hit with me either, but it was better than I expected. In all of the flavors, the outer layer is sort of creamy, and the inner layer taste a bit like a refreshing mint.

Don’t get me wrong, these aren’t magic pills that will magically melt off pounds, but they do help with cravings and that can help you to stop snacking and overeating but don’t take my word for it, the folks over at MealEnders were kind enough to offer my readers a 30% discount off their order. Just visit the MealEnders website and enter WINNER-TOO at checkout.

Or… can enter to win a sample pack just like I received by entering below! So enter now! I’ll be picking a winner on Tuesday and you could be the one receiving a package sometime in April…..
