Why the heck was Sponge Bob there?

After well over a week of no running, I was almost sure that Saturday would be a good day to try out a little run.  I started out that morning and it felt really great so I kept going.  When I got to 2 miles, I decided to take a little break and realized that I was running a bit too fast so I slowed it down a little and ran/walked the last two miles.  I felt fine the rest of the day and I even lifted weights with MacGyver after I ran.

I feel greatOn Sunday morning I was even more excited to get in a little run.  I decided to keep it short and run 3 miles.  I got up early and got out around 7AM. It was super foggy and I could barely see 10 feet in front of me.

foggy trailSEE?  It was crazy and it lasted until around 10AM…but back to my story.  So, I stretched a good deal and picked out a good playlist and got ready to go.  I pushed off with my right foot and when my left foot hit the ground, I felt the most excruciating pain run up my shin.  At first I thought maybe I just landed wrong so I started again pushing off with my right foot and then my left foot screamed.

Oh shitThat was it.  I walked the rest of the way and came home in defeat.  Apparently my left shin is still mad at me.  I plan to see my doctor this week for something else so I’ll ask him about it.  I’m going to take it easy til then.  Walking will have to suffice.

In the meantime let’s talk about the rest of the weekend and I’m sorry to say this but last night I watched the most boring super bowl I have ever seen.  Not just the game itself but the commercials, the half time show, it all was just….boring.

so very boringAnd then I spent the better part of the second half trying to figure out why the heck Sponge Bob was in the half time show.  So much confusion.  What even was that about?

Thankfully, I did see the most hilarious thing on facebook later that night that made me forget all about Sponge Bob.

best fb post ever

Bwah ha ha ha ha. Best Post EVER.

So glad he took that shirt off, aren’t you?

Also this weekend I finally got to see Three Identical Strangers which I’ve wanted to see practically since filming began.  I also saw Love, Gilda and I highly recommend them both.  They were awesome.

There is another movie I’m dying to see but it hasn’t been released yet.  I’m so excited about it because a few years ago MacGyver and I fell in love with this show called Idiotsitter.  It was hilarious.  Unfortunately like all great shows I fall in love with, it got cancelled.

Imagine how excited I was to find out that the main character from Idiotsitter, Jillian Bell, is in a new movie called, Brittney runs a Marathon.  One of my favorite actresses and my favorite sport all together, it doesn’t get any better.

When it premiered at Sundance, it got awesome reviews.  I was stoked to hear that Amazon will be showing the movie…. but not until Summer so I guess I’ll have to wait.

factsIt also just occurred to me that I watch entirely too much TV.

How was your weekend?

Did you watch the Patriot Bowl Super Bowl?

Friday favorites and not so much

I know the Polar Vortex is serious business but I am also glad to see that some people are having fun with it.  Last night the kid called so I could talk to my Grandsnake and we tried to get him to take some hot water outside and throw it in the air to see if it would freeze, but he wasn’t having anything at all to do with the outside.

Thankfully we have twitter and this awesome feed was trending.

I walked three miles this morning.  I am not going to run again until my shins and my left ankle are 100% better, if that ever happens.  Obviously, I know they will get better, it just seems like it’s taking forever and currently whenever I see anyone out running, this is me,

I wish I was running

On the flip side, I’m getting a lot of work done, so there’s that.

I read a few stories this week about how thrift stores are overwhelmed right now because of all the hoopla surrounding Marie Kondo and the KonMari way.  Apparently not many people are getting joy from their things and  they’re donating a shit ton of their stuff to local thrift stores.

I don’t need to tell you that it warms my heart.  I love going to thrift stores and I’m pretty sure when I find all the pyrex it will bring me joy, so you keep donating KonMari followers.

For those of you who don’t know, Marie Kondo tells people that if something no longer brings you joy, throw it away.  Also, if you’d like to read her book, you can find it in my garbage.

Hope your weekend is fabulous.
