WTF Wednesday, a glitter gym

I got up this morning and debated whether or not I should run.  My legs and feet felt fine all day yesterday as well as this morning.  MacGyver went up to the man cave around 6:40AM to work out.  We’ve turned it back into a gym again.  Well, actually part of it is filled with all of my craft supplies and glitter has invaded most of the spaces, but I digress, in the end I went for a five mile run.

After I ran I was stepping into the shower and I got that familiar tightness in my shins.  I should have stayed at home with MacGyver and worked out in the glitter gym.

We need two football leagues.  The Patriot’s league and a ‘those other teams’ league.  That seems fairer, don’t you think?

I had to make a regular run to the Walmart yesterday for some staples.  Unfortunately, I waited until almost 5PM which means that it was crazy crowded, emphasis on the crazy.  Anywho, while waiting in line I picked up one of my usual mags and started reading it and before I knew it my turn had come so I threw the mag on the counter and I purchased it.  Later in the evening I picked it up to read it and the realized the articles looked really familiar.   It finally occurred to me that I had already bought the same magazine, and not once, but twice.  And yet I continued to read it.

Have you gotten a cold yet this year?  Did you get a flu shot?  Well, if you’re worried about catching the flu or a cold but you don’t like needles there’s a company that will sell you a tissue they claim is pre-loaded with an infected sneeze.  Seriously.  According to the company, you can get sick on your own terms.

Know what makes me sick?  The fact that people will actually pay 80 bucks for that tissue.  That makes me nauseous.  People please, you’re smarter than that! However, if you aren’t smarter than that go ahead and send me 80 bucks and I’ll sneeze into a kleenex and mail it to you.

Have you ever bought the same magazine twice or three times by mistake?

Do you plan on watching the super bowl and if so who are you rooting for?

  1. I hope you get rid of the shin splints! I haven’t ran in about a week. Work has been too busy. I could today. But not motivated yet. I would if I didn’t have to go to work. Maybe.

I root for the Patriots to lose.

  2. I have never purchased multiple copies of a magazine, but I do have 3 copies of Wuthering Heights (which is a book I hate) and two copies of Crime and Punishment. With the Wuthering Heights book, I had a copy that I purchased on a layover at LaGuardia airport in 1986. I never finished reading it, but when my bookclub talked about reading it, I realized that I needed a new copy because the print was too small for aging eyes. On Independent Bookstore Day, Seattle has a Bookstore Day Challenge- visit all 19 of the participating independent bookstores and become a Bookstore Champion and receive a 25% discount for all the following year. I always make a list of books I want because there’s not a lot of time to browse. And at the end of the day I looked at the books that I bought and realized I had purchased 2 copies of Wuthering Heights on the same day. Then I read the book and hated it. I don’t know how Heathcliff has become a romantic figure. I don’t even know how I ended up with two Crime and Punishment. I remember buying the second copy, but have no recollection of buying the first. At least they’re different editions.

I don’t know if I’ll actively watch the Superbowl this year, though it will be on in my house because my husband and son will watch it. I have a problem with people getting concussions and ruining their future for my entertainment, and then the whole taking a knee thing. I will probably have my annual beer and eat some appetizers and then wander off to do my own thing. The commercials aren’t even funny anymore. I don’t care who wins. I did think the jokes going around calling for a name change to The New England Patriots Invitational Classic pretty funny though.

Now you know why I hardly ever comment. I think my reply is longer than your post, haha. Hope you get your shin-thing figured out soon!

    • I won’t watch the super bowl either, and most of the commercials will be on you tube either before or after so even if they’re funny, I’ll still see them.

I love Wuthering Heights but I think it was because in the beginning I really wanted Heathcliff to win Catherine and when he didn’t and he became such a bastard I was shocked and I kept thinking the novel would make me sympathetic to him again but it never did. I love books that piss me off or make me think. I hate reading books that I can easily figure out.
