WTF Wednesday, when your shopping plan fails, improvise with these gems

I was pretty proud of myself for getting all my shopping done over the weekend.  Every store that I shopped from had 2 day shipping or either promised delivery by Christmas.  I ordered items that would all be delivered before the 20th.  The only thing I had left to do as wait for it all to arrive.

But then the emails started coming, delayed shipping they said….

screamingAnd what kills me is one of those very websites is still promising two day shipping on a product that I ordered on the 15th which still hasn’t shipped.  LIARS!

If you’re dealing with issues like this and waiting for gifts that may or may not arrive, here are some alternative solutions that I came up with.

My first choice was this,

helmet head

Bringing whole new meaning to ‘helmet head’

Unfortunately, I have no idea where to order it but if you have more patience than me you could search the internet.  In the meantime, here are some things you can order.

ciastersHow’s that for a passive aggressive gift for the hubby?  You can order them here.

And because I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy,

poopSeriously, who doesn’t need this in their life?  This is the best thing ever.  You can order it here.

And lastly, for the man in your life who lives to fish and spends way too much time taking a poop in the morning.  Give him something to do:

WTF?  It’s Wednesday, and who says gifting can’t be fun?

What’s the weirdest gift you ever gave or got?

When the weather’s perfect, run you must

I’m so tired y’all.  I got it in my head that I needed to make Christmas candy for our friends and family for Christmas.  I don’t know why I felt the need to do it because I’ve got a ton of shit going on but I convinced myself and so I was up half the night last night dipping the bon bons in the chocolate.  For you my people, all for you.

bon bonsOkay MacGyver and I will benefit too.

Christmas is only a week away and I’m super excited about it.  Mainly because Christmas Eve and Christmas fall on Monday and Tuesday so that means I’ll be taking a full 4 days off and that is all I can think about right now.  Four days of not having to do anything work related at all.  Glorious.  Sometimes you just need a lil break and it rejuvenates you.

Our weather has been spectacular.  It’s the kind of weather I wait for all year because it’s so much easier for me to run when it’s cool outside.

weatherUnfortunately, it only happens about 5 or 6 weeks throughout the year and it’s scattered about with a few cool days here and a few there.  That’s why I HAVE to run when the weather is so nice.  Lately though, it’s been consecutive and I know I said I was going to take a day or two off each week but I cannot waste perfect weather.  Nope, I must run.

If the weather stays like this I might even start two a days….

What’s your weather like right now?

Are you running every day and loving it or too cold and hating it?

Running, Baking, Crafting and gettin it done

Part of the reason I have such a hard time catching up at this time of year is the insane amount of emails I receive.  Granted, most of them are from stores that I’ve shopped at or mailing lists that I am on but the thing is, I still have to go through all of them, lest I miss something important.

shopping and shoppingAhem.  Any way, I managed to get all of my shopping done this weekend.  And the best part is that most of it will be drop shipped so I don’t have to worry about delivery and shipping and all that crazy post office stuff.  Well, I did say most, I still have to run to the post office today to mail nephew’s package but other than that, I’m all good.

We have family in town this year for Christmas which is nice so I’m baking treats as gifts.

bakingI started making the chocolate bon bons and m&m cookies last night and it’s going to be real hard not to dig into those gift baskets before we actually hand them out but I’m gonna try real hard.

One of my favorite magazines is Southern Living and my mother in law brings it to me whenever I see her.  She brought the Christmas edition last week and there is a cake on the cover that I am dying to make.

Doesn’t it look spectacular?

car cakeIf I end up making it and it comes out okay, I’ll post a pic.  It totally goes along with my theme too, it almost matches perfectly.

I finally finished all of my decorations this weekend.  I wasn’t happy with the front porch area and then I remembered that MacGyver had brought me some old windows.  So I dug one of the windows out and made a trip to the craft store for some supplies and I created this:

Christmas windowdiy christmas decorIt was super easy and just what the front porch needed.

I also managed to run 44 miles last week.  I can’t even begin to tell you how nice that feels.  I even managed a 9 mile run on Saturday so double digits are almost here.

trainingI can’t even remember the last time that I ran over 40 miles in a week but 40-45 is actually my comfort zone.  I think when I get over 45 I start to feel it in places and injuries usually creep up so I’m comfortable staying where I am.  Eventually, I’ll run 40-45 miles in 5 or 6 days rather than spreading it out over 7 which is what I’m doing now but it’s a work in progress and I’m just thankful that I can get out there every day and run.

We didn’t do anything exciting this weekend.  We stayed home and I was able to get a lot of yard work done yesterday and MacGyver worked on our sprinkler system.  I’m thinking I should start working on my New Year’s Resolutions at this rate, I might actually accomplish something.

What did you do this weekend?

How many miles did you run last week?

do you back anything special for the holidays?
