WTF Wednesday, gettin paid, but not really.

So I had a post all written out and then my computer somehow ate it.  I have no idea what happened except that maybe I accidentally deleted it because I have like 9 windows open.  #I’mSupposedToBeWorkingRightNow

screwing offI have been somewhat productive this morning.  I ran 7 miles, took the dogs for a walk and managed to shower so there’s that.  I also answered 4 calls from telemarketers so that’s like working 4 hours as far as I’m concerned.

Did you watch the State of the Union address last night?  I watched the first 15 minutes but then MacGyver and I got so annoyed by all the clapping that we had to turn it.  I mean why do they have to clap after every single point made?  Why can’t they wait until the end and then clap?  And they clap for what seems like forever so you’re just sitting there waiting like, say something PLEASE and for the love of God, DO NOT CLAP AGAIN.

SOOOOO ANNOYING

To be honest, I do not have a lot of patience but still, the clapping is like nails on a chalkboard after about 5 minutes.  So, we watched a recap later.  I got all the info I needed in like 8 minutes and still had time to watch a movie.  #Winning

Did you see the super blue blood moon?  It wasn’t really all that visible here but the Griffith Observatory streamed it live.  I’m reposting it here for you in case you didn’t see it because I’m that cool.  And also I want you to like me.

Yesterday I was waiting for some content from a few of my clients to add to their websites because I’m a little ahead and I’d like to stay ahead or at least on schedule.

One of my clients finally sent his data over at around 5:30PM and then two more followed at around 6PM.  For the record, my stated business hours are 9-5.

All three sent way more than they contracted for and two of them moved up the completion date.  Then one of them decided to add another section with several pages that we never even discussed AND it involves quite a bit of programming.

I know I’m lucky enough to work from home and I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining but between yesterday and the day before I’ve already worked 24 hours this week which is like an additional day!

Running and trying to tweak my diet, Ketogenic anyone?

Yesterday my legs were still quite sore.  That’s why I went on a five mile walk instead of a run.  It felt good to stretch my legs out a bit but running wasn’t going to happen.

Things were much better today and I was able to pull off 7 miles but I plan on raking leaves again and pulling some more weeds much later this afternoon so who knows how my poor legs will feel tomorrow.

Did anyone watch the Grammy’s?  Does anybody else feel like Blue Ivy is sort of a brat?  Or is that just me….

Yes, she’s cute and yes, those kitten heels were adorable but I didn’t think she was so cute watching the way she talked back and sassed Beyonce and JayZ.  I mean, she told Bey to be quiet!  Oh, No girl.

I just thought she seemed really spoiled and it made me want to have a serious talk with her parents because she’s not gonna be little forever so somebody might wanna get that attitude in check.  It won’t be cute when she’s 15.  I promise you.

MacGyver and I put on Hulu last night to catch up on Shameless and when it was over we decided to watch a move.  If you haven’t see Ingrid Goes West, I’d recommend it.  It’s not the greatest movie ever made but it was relevant to our society today in how obsessed some people are with social media.

In a nutshell, Ingrid is a girl who becomes an instafan of a girl she sees on Instagram and then moves to California to befriend her.  It’s a dark comedy so if you like that genre, I think you’d enjoy it.

After watching a bit too much TV and indulging in way too much sugar, MacGyver and I have decided we need to tweak our diets.  I mostly follow a paleo diet due to my problems with gluten and it also seems to help with my thyroid but lately I’ve read a lot of good things about following a Ketogenoc diet.

I know that there are healthy fats but it just seems weird that a diet that has you consuming so much fat is healthy?  I’m still researching it which is why I’m interested in hearing from anyone who eats this way.  How do you feel?  Do you have more energy?  Has it improved your overall health?

I need to know these things so feel free to chime in and leave me a comment, or a recipe 😉

Two double digit days and the workout that killed my legs.


On Friday afternoon MacGyver called me from the bar where he was having a drink with our friend Scott.  That never happens, but since it did, when he asked me to come meet them, I did.

After a few drinks and no dinner I had the brilliant idea that we should all go to the races.  So, we went home to get ready and MacGyver called to see when they started.  Only they didn’t because there were no races that night.

Anyway, one thing led to another and by the end of the night it was decided that we would go to the races in Bradenton on Saturday.  Then Saturday happened and I said nah.  Instead I did this,

I had planned on doing 15 miles but it was supposed to rain all day Sunday according to the weather forecast and my lawn has been seriously neglected.  That’s why I spent the next six hours raking leaves and pulling out dead plants and I’d love to show you pictures of how beautiful everything looks except it doesn’t.  I have at least 10 or 11 more days before it looks even decent!

Pretty much my life right now….

In my life the kid swinging into the leaves is actually just the wind from the bajillion cold fronts we get every week.  It’s nice for running but hella annoying when it comes to the lawn.

Anywho, raking leaves and squatting down for six hours to pull weeds is apparently a work out because the next morning my legs were SORE!  Does that count for strength training because it should.  Did I mention how sore I am?

I didn’t let that stop me though because on Sunday morning, I did this,

Booyah!

Two days of double digits.  Not bad.  That brought my total running miles for the week to 40.  Walking miles 4, biking 3.  Strength training, 0, yoga, 0.  Leave raking and pulling weeds, 6 hours.  I’m counting it!

The rest of the weekend was spent hanging out at home avoiding all forms of infected human life and by that I mean prolonging the days until MacGyver and I eventually catch the dreaded flu.
