Are you one of those lucky people in the path of totality who will actually see the full solar eclipse today?
My mom is pretty close where she lives in Tennessee however, we are not. We’ll be able to see a partial eclipse but I’m still excited about it. If you want to know how much of the eclipse you’ll be able to see, you can visit this really cool site here.
We just got back from Nokomis last night so we’ll be watching from here. I’m glad I’m watching it from anywhere because I was nearly decapitated on Friday. No, really, I was.
MacGyver and I were trimming the canal from our John boat and we were throwing the clippings in the middle of the boat. MacGyver tripped over all the brush and fell backwards with the sharpened loppers in his hand and they scrapped right across my collar bone narrowly missing my neck by an inch!
We laugh about it now but it could have turned out really bad. That’s why on Saturday MacGyver asked his brother to help finish the job. I cleaned the house instead and I also had lots of help from my awesome sister-in-law and thing 1 and thing 2.
Afterwards, we went to dinner at a new restaurant that we hadn’t been to yet, and then we all went to the drum circle. Because I live to embarrass myself and those who love me with my most awesome dance moves.
And now the family is on their way to Clearwater to spend the last week of their vacation with us. I am pretty lucky to be able to share my birthday with my nephew.
Our birthday’s are Wednesday by the way, in case you want to send presents.
Now, get out there and watch the eclipse today but make sure you have the right type of glasses or use a pinhole viewer.
These are obviously not the right type of glasses but fortunately Boomer doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the eclipse. Dog treats, that’s another story. He’s open for any and all sponsorships, (and I’m not above pimpin out my dogs for early retirement), just sayin’.

Will you be able to see the full eclipse where you are?
