The race for behind, I’m winning!

I got my run in very early yesterday then walked the dogs and got right to work.  I have a project that was due on the first of April and I had given myself plenty of time to complete it and I was all ready to dive in and then that thing that always happens happened.

changed

The client decided that she needed to move the date up two weeks and then another client decided that a module that they previously didn’t need on their site they now need, yesterday.

And if all that wasn’t enough to stress me out and give me minor heart palpitations, MacGyver was home yesterday and he wanted me to do quotes for him.   Oh, and did I mention that he was in the garage working on his motorcycle so he kept leaving his phone in the house which means his business line then rings over to my phone, so yeah, I was also answering calls for him yesterday and dealing with his clients.

so mad

Sometime around 3 in the afternoon the phones died down and I was finally able to start to get my work started and then someone rang the damn doorbell.  So MacGyver looks over at me from where he’s laying comfortably on the sofa and asks if I’d go answer the door.

you trying me

He re-thought that and then got up and answered it himself which was a good thing because I think I would have felt really shitty if I’d have yelled at the Girl Scout and her dad selling cookies from her little red wagon.

I never got any work done yesterday.   None.

So, that’s what I’m doing today and that’s why this is a short post.  I didn’t want to leave you without quality content though so I ask Boomer and Hank to contribute something.  Boomer was more than willing to contribute and offered up a couple of pictures.

Hank, not so much.  Y’all know he needs more motivation.  I had to hold him and coddle him until he fell asleep and then take his picture.

I get royalty fees Peasants!

Such a spoiled one!

I’ll be back tomorrow once I get a little caught up.

Have a fabulous day!

Steps, Miles, Badges, and you can wear it as a cape dahling.

Good Morning!

We’re back to the grind of the work week.  Thankfully I was able to get a good five mile run in before starting work this morning which put me in a better mood and hopefully I wont bite anyone’s head off.

Grey Gardens

Tell them Mother Darling wont you?

Please tell me that you’ve seen the documentary Grey Gardens.  It’s one of my all time favorites.  It’s not the best or most riveting documentary but it’s one of those things that you start watching and you just can’t look away.

I’ve seen it at least 30 times.  Don’t judge.

Over the weekend I got a migraine which, if I’m being 100 percent honest, I had a mild one for several days leading up to Saturday so I didn’t run Saturday morning.  Instead, MacGyver an I went to a bazillion garage sales and then it rained all afternoon so we watched a ton of movies including, you guessed it, Grey Gardens, with Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange.  I liked it.  MacGyver feel asleep.

I was a total sloth on Saturday.

Proof:
saturday stepsI made up for it the next day.  Of course, because I have the best luck in the world, the weather went changed and by that I mean, it got warm and humid.

And I decided to run 10 freaking miles because I’m so smart.

I ran on the Legacy Trail

ten mile run

And I nailed the 10 miles!

And then I hit a level in my fitbit that I have never hit before.  MacGyver went to Englewood to work on the boat and I decided to work in the yard and clean up around the house in Nokomis.  Apparently I just kept going and going and going because I got something called a cleats badge.  (If anyone has any idea what this means, clue me in.)

4o,ooo steps in a day

Holly steps a lot! Yes, that’s one day!

I guess it pays to be a sloth the day before.

We’re back at home now.  Too soon if you ask me but we may head back down mid week since I can work from anywhere and we have some things we’re working on at the house down there that need to be finished.

Anyway, I’ve got one more thing I wanted to share with you.  This is MJ Day.  She’s the editor of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and this is a video she posted on instagram.  It’s a powerful message and I couldn’t not share it with you.

I love it!

How do you feel in your bathing suit?

MacGyver left me

Yesterday MacGyver left me. He went down to Englewood to replace the boat lift and I stayed here to work and because I had a conference call this morning.  Oh you thought I meant he left me, left me! No, he knows where the bread is buttered, and besides only I know which channels are the high def ones, so he’s stuck with me.

Anyway, the conference call is done, which is a good thing because my computer is acting up and the keys are sticking, and it’s driving me crazy.

So, the dogs have been walked and fed, my run is complete, the car is packed and I’m ready to go. Nokomis, here we come! And not a minute to freakin soon.

Boomer and his bear

Apparently Boomer will be taking along his bear even though he has one at the other house, because he is insisting on bringing this one. He wont put it down!

And doesn’t Hank look smashing in his new jacket?

Hank in his jacket

I swear it’s Hank, even though the little shit refuses to pose for the camera.

I can tell this is gonna be a fun ride down.  I’m so glad they’re on their best behavior already.  Oh joy. I am in need of a weekend. Adios sticky keys!

What are you’re plans for the weekend?
