Last week the Kid and I ran some errands. He needed some gas so we stopped at the station and while he was pumping gas I was doing what every other woman my age does, taking selfies. After a few minutes I hear the kid yell ‘DUCK!’
And so I did.
Except that wasn’t what he meant and I got pinged in the side of the head with the car keys. Lesson learned.
A few years ago I bought Hank a cave. He loved that thing. I had to wait until everyone was sound asleep at night to wash it because he never wanted to get out of it.
Despite repeated washing after a while it started to smell so I left it at the house in Nokomis in the laundry room, (with the intention of throwing it away and buying a new one.)
Try as I might, I couldn’t find a new one that was like the one he had and after a few months, Hank forgot all about it. Until the last time we were in Nokomis and I left the door of the laundry room open and now the stink is back.
I finally found a new one on Amazon but in the meantime we’re dealing with the funk because little man isn’t getting out of it anytime soon.
A few weeks ago MacGyver came home with a basil plant and on the opposite side of the watering instructions was a recipe for Goat Cheese and Basil Pasta. It was surprisingly easy to make.
I took a picture and planned on posting the recipe but I accidentally threw it away. That’s not the worst part, the worst part is that I loved it and now I don’t remember how to make it.
I googled recipes but none were even close. If I had culinary talents I’m sure I could wing it but since I don’t it will have to live on in memory. Rest in peace Goat Cheese and Basil Pasta, rest in peace.
I woke up this morning to go running, got all dressed and ready and then walked outside.
Wait, what? This is Florida in May y’all! Is this what Heaven feels like? Because I love it and I’m going to be outside as much as possible the next few days.
What are your plans for the weekend?
What’s your weather like?
