Happy New Year

First things first, Happy New Year! For the first time in like 4 or 5 years MacGyver and I managed to be awake at midnight, actually we stayed up til 1:30AM.

Around 7PM on New Years Eve we headed over to our good friends house for a little get together. It was small, only 3 couples including us but the six of us had a blast playing Domino Train. In case you’re wondering, I won.

Domino TrainClearly, we know how to party!

I’m taking the day off from any running today so that I can put away some of the Christmas decorations and do some shopping but I’m stopping in to share with you a few of my most recent favorite things because by next week, things may change.

First, this book:

50 shades of chicken

My SIL sent this to me and it is hilarious. It’s the only time I’ve ever really been all that interested in cooking. MacGyver and I cracked up at the names of the dishes. I’ve decided I may try and make of few of them and create a new series, called ‘Friday Food Porn’, stay tuned for that.

A funny story:  When MacGyver first saw the book, he thought it said Flower and he turned around and asked me how that happened.  So I’m like, what happened, and then I looked at the book and realized his mistake.  He actually thought I wrote a cookbook.

seriously

Honey, the day I publish a cookbook it will rain dollars.

My next favorite thing, these socks:

The kid got me those socks for Christmas. He knows me well. If you’d like to get some of these for yourself, you can order them here.  I mean if you’re a girl, if you’re a dude and you want to order them, you might be weird, but go ahead and order them anyway.  Just do you, the world will adjust.

Oh, and the kid also got me this from the same company….

saving for surgery

Love.

Lastly, since I’m putting away some decorations, I wanted to share with you a few of my absolute favorites before I put them away for another year.

doggie ornaments

How seriously cute are those? Right. A Dachshund Santa, I die. The Christmas Tree actually has dog bowls and dog bones as ornaments.  Whoever thought of and created these ornaments, we are kindred spirits my friend.

And with that the crazy dog lady has a bit of shopping to do!

Happy New Year y’all, 2016 is our year!
