Until recently I hadn’t used the food logging part of the Fitbit. This was in large part due to the fact that I just don’t have time for yet another analytical system, and I knew if I started it would end up becoming yet another thing for me to obsess over.
Or it would just make me hungrier…
In reality, I eat fairly healthy. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and MacGyver and I are careful not to indulge in a lot of unhealthy choices. But let’s get real for a hot minute because I do love my desserts and I may be a little remiss to log the types and amounts of some of the desserts I like to eat.

If you eat fast it doesn’t count.
Can you imagine how bad it would look to see a Wendy’s large Frosty with a half bag of reeses mini peanut butter cups on there at least 4 times a week? Um, yeah, me neither…
Holy shit! I eat a lot. And by a lot I mean all the damn time. I logged my food intake for one day and it was enough to convince me that I shouldn’t log my food intake.
Logging food made me want more food. And the more I thought about it, the more I had to have it.

French fries huh??? You mean Sweet Potato fries?
And then I had to go get some…

with marshmallow fluff, of course.
I totally lost track of my thoughts because I just spent 10 minutes writing this post and now I’m hungry…
Obviously, I cannot log my food. This part of the Fitbit is a fail for me.

Do you keep track of the foods you eat?
On a scale of 1-10 how healthy is your diet?
If by “track your food” what you mean is “remember what you ate and feel kind of ashamed” then, yes, I track my food! lol
Well, actually I meant log it all and then see how many actual calories you ate vs how many you burned but I like your method way better! I’m on board 🙂
I would say I eat well about 75% of the time and honestly, I believe that is what you need. If you are too focused then you are going to miss out little moments. I logged foods for a little while when my antibiotic was messing up my body but haven’t since.
I’m at about 70-75% and your right when you get too focused on it, it becomes stressful and I’m just not ready to give up my Wendy’s frosty yet 😉
hhmmm… this is a toughy for me…as i am a serial tracker…of EVERYTHING… so i would definitely say i track what i eat…not for the typical reasons tho.
I track to know what reactions i might have….digestion, energy, performance, etc.
I like to know what to expect. Like a dog. I love dogs.
How’s little one? Is he paw right?
LOL, pawright! Love it! And yes, he’s doing well. He got his bandage off but he still has to go to Cone-y Island at night just to keep him from licking and biting and re-opening the wound. Fortunately, he doesn’t mind it too much.
I would never keep track of my food. Otherwise I would probably cry! I eat a lot. Especially now that I’m back in a heavy weight cycle with my coach!
LOL, I learned my lesson after only one day. 🙂
You are hilarious! Thanks for making my day! No I do not track my food and I would say I am about a 7 out of 10 healthy eater.
Awe, you’re welcome Jade, thanks for reading 🙂
