So this weekend was productive in some ways and not so productive in others. On Friday night I did a bit of house cleaning and then MacGyver and I watched a little TV before turning in early. MacGyver got up Saturday morning to go hunting and I went out for a long run that only lasted for 3.5 miles because I just didn’t have it in me. After running I took the dogs for a walk and then I got to work.
MacGyver doesn’t always agree to my home improvement projects so sometimes I have to improvise and by improvise I mean I have to do them when he’s gone hunting or to work or to the store but I’m sure you get the picture. So, while the mouse was away hunting, I took on the new project of painting the spare bedroom/my office.
I got about half of the room finished and then put everything away and then I went to check on the dogs. I found Boomer here:
MacGyver got home around 5 and the cable guy showed up at 6 to repair our internet which has been acting up. That’s when MacGyver mentioned to him that we had a spare room that wasn’t connected to the cable and could he take a look at it…….oops.
The cable guy was a cool guy but when he realized I was trying to keep MacGyver out of the spare room, he sold me out! MacGyver asked what it was that I didn’t want him to see because he was tired and when he’s tired, he’s clueless and obviously can’t smell paint fumes or see the different color on two of the walls. So the cable guy says, maybe it’s the new paint?
Not cool cable guy, not cool. I guess he didn’t realize, I’m the one who leaves the service reviews….
On Sunday I sat out to do a long run again. I planned on 8 miles which seems sort of silly to call that long but since I haven’t run over 7 in a few months, it was long for me. I finished at 7 and called it quits. I was happy with that.
After running Jayde came over and we walked down to a garage sale which turned out to be a bust. Then MacGyver said he wanted to check out the Go Devil engine on the mud boat and asked if we wanted to go cruise around Alligator Lake.
Uh, hells yeah!
Alligator Lake is quite small but it was fun to see how far we could go in the mud boat. Most boats could never get as far as we got and we nearly went to the end. We plowed through all the sea grass and lily pads and even the tree roots with no problems. We only saw one gator though. (Sorry, I did not get a picture.)
After we went all the way to the end we turned around and came back and rode around the main part because Jayde and I wanted to look at all the houses on the lake and that’s when I saw the b-b-q pit of my dreams.
After the boat ride we hung out at the house for a while and then I got a migraine so I had to take a nap to try to get rid of it. It never went away completely but it was somewhat manageable later in the day. However, there was this one thing that freaked me out. At one point after our boat ride I was petting Boomer and he reached up to give me his paw, very gently. About 5 or 10 minute later Jayde asked what happened to my arm. I said nothing and then looked down at my arm and it looked like this:
Yeah, and he didn’t grab me hard or anything. In fact, I felt nothing at all. It was pretty weird.
I may or may not have mentioned it last week but I’ve been getting migraine headaches a lot lately. I had one on Wednesday and then another one on Thursday plus the one I got after my run on Sunday. Typically if I get a headache after running it’s because it was a long run meaning 12 or more miles so I’m not really sure what to attribute them to but based on that and the thing with my arm, I made an appointment to see my doctor on Friday.
And, even though I don’t think it has anything to do with my headaches or the random bleeding of my arm, I’m taking the running one day at a time. This morning I ran 3 miles on the treadmill and that’s all I had in me so I ended right there. I’m sure the doctor will assure me that I’m fine but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
And now you’re all caught up with what’s been going on over here. Now I want to hear from you.
What did you do this weekend?
Have you ever had an injury that you had no idea how it happened?
