I was feeling a bit better this morning so I went for a run. I always follow the neck rule when I’m sick to determine whether or not I should run, and that’s what I did today. I didn’t push myself too hard and kept it easy with 3.5 miles.
I also wore one of those cooling towels around my neck which felt great but I had to make some last-minute adjustments because previously when I’ve worn that thing around my neck it slid down and eventually fell off. I had to resort to shoving the ends of it in my sports bra. It worked although it wasn’t the most attractive situation.
This morning I had an epiphany and this is what I used:
One of the biggest reasons I wanted to run this morning is because when I was bored and sick yesterday I put some new songs on my iPod and I wanted to see if I liked running to them.
I’m sorry to say that most of them were fails, but these are the ones that made the cut:
Flo Rida – GDFR ft. Sage The Gemini and Lookas
Beyoncé – 7/11
David Guetta – Hey Mama ft. Nicki Minaj and Afrojack
Galantis – Gold Dust
You know what else I did yesterday? Pinned stuff. It took me a long time to get familiar with pinterest. At first, I didn’t like it all that much and I thought it was just another piece of social media I was going to have to eventually learn, but I wasn’t all that enthused about it. I had the account forever before I really pinned much of anything. Really only recently did I start to use it more often, and I’ll tell ya, I am now addicted to it.
Pinterest is freaking awesome, you can design entire rooms in a matter of seconds. I’m well on my way to designing an entire house full of rooms. I’m pretty sure I’ve become a pinterior designer! I should get paid for that, right? I mean, that should be a real job.
I also saw a video yesterday that you guys might really like. It’s very short but it’s a lesson in humility that every runner should watch. This Oregon runner is pretty sure he’s got the race in the bag, so sure in fact that he starts to celebrate and encourage the crowd to cheer for him. Only, he doesn’t win…
What a dipshit! Guess he won’t be doing that again.
So tell me
What do you do when you’re home sick?
Do you run when your sick?
What’s your favorite running song right now?
