WTF Wednesday, trying to spin butt ugly.

Do you ever watch that show House Hunters on HGTV? As if House Hunters wasn’t stupid enough, they now have a House Hunters, Where Are They Now edition, no really they do. I’ve never intentionally watched either show. Occasionally I watch HGTV or the DIY network while I’m working because I love Fixer Upper, Rehab Addict and Texas Flip and Move, ah but I digress.

What I’m getting at is that sometimes I leave the TV on the same channel long after my favorite shows have ended and I end up watching stupid crap like, you guessed it, House Hunters, Where Are They Now? You know what happened when I watched that show? I was sucked into it and I was really excited to see what the new owners did with the house, and then….

What happened?

WHAT THE F………….???

What in the hell were they thinking? It doesn’t really matter how good your producers are, you can’t put a good spin on butt ugly, ever.

What does crack me up is watching some of the couples argue over the renovations they plan to do. She wants to make the kitchen bigger, he wants to build a man cave first and so on and so forth. It’s hilarious because you can almost always guess who’s going to win the battle. In my house it would be me because compromising on the design and style of my house, yeah, not my forte.

In my defense the men in my house, MacGyver and the Kid, could care less about what type of sofa they sit on or what type of dish they eat off of. Truth be told, they probably don’t even care if they’re clean. As long as they have a bed to sleep in and food to eat, they’re happy. Bless their little hearts. Thankfully, I’m around to handle the details because without me…well, you can only imagine.

I'm a control freak, yes i am
Have you ever attempted a home improvement project with your partner? If so, how did it work out?

  1. My husband is the control freak when it comes to home projects. He’s an engineer, so it just comes naturally. I usually take a step back and watch while he meticulously plans everything out. It can be very intimidating to take on projects while he is watching.

  2. Honestly, my husband is a pain about any changes. I’ve learned to do them when he is away on business – then he can’t argue & often doesn’t even notice

  3. lol I’ve heard of that show..never watched it.

My husband and I can usually come to an agreement pretty quickly when it comes to almost anything… He actually has a very good eye for design when it comes to remodeling a house, like tile color, counter tops and what not. He has uncles that either paint houses or have re modeled their own house a time or two, so I trust his input. Now, when it comes to decorating, I act like I know what I’m doing and he just goes along with it. IE: our bedding. White sheets with pretty silver design and a big white, fluffy comforter… looks quite girlie, but he doesn’t care at all. 😀
