The long birthday is over…

Well, we’re back in Clearwater. We came back tonight. The super long birthday weekend has ended but in case you’re wondering, here’s how it went down.

On Friday my SIL and I shopped all day and then we came home, quickly changed picked up the rest of the family and hit up the mall for even more shopping.

Saturday – The actual Birthday

I got up early and hit the trail for 5 really easy miles.

The Legacy TrailIt was the perfect way to start the day. After running I showered and we all went to some garage sales where we scored some pretty awesome stuff.

At around 6, we headed out to dinner.

Yes, my outfit is short. Whatever, don't judge!

I am fortunate in that I share my birthday with my nephew and he is visiting so we actually got to spend our birthdays together. My SIL’s birthday is a week earlier than ours so it was a celebration for the three of us.

After the drum circle we headed back to the house where my SIL had a LEGO cake that she made for my nephew:

Lego CakeAnd they got me the best cookie cake ever…

Riding the SUPAnd today we did a little more shopping, a little cleaning and then some driving and we are now home.

And guess what came in the mail while I was away…..

And that was my birthday adventure.

Now, I’m off to catch some zzzz’s. The family is still in town and we have many more adventures planned….

Have you ever ridden a SUP?

Do you think it’s as amazing as I do that I got both of my dogs to ride the SUP?

  1. What a great way to spend your birthday. It’s my birthday next week & you’ve given me some great ideas, although I don’t think I could convince my dog to even go near a paddle board, never mind to sit down and relax on one! Brilliant pics 🙂

    • Thank you! I never thought I’d get my lab on the board although he loves water but I was surprised to get both of them on the board with me. The only problem is that now, I can’t ever go alone! 🙂

  2. Glad you had a great birthday! I’m seriously craving birthday cake right now! My nephews 2nd birthday is next Saturday and I’m totally looking forward to some good cake.
I really want to try SUP! Actually, I’d like to try any kind of paddle boarding. And that is so cool your dog’s got on the board with you!

  3. Thanks for sharing your Birthday adventures with us! Looks amazing. I have done SUP which is such a fun workout. I was able to take my 3 year old nephew on it with me. As far as our dog riding on it…well, not this one we currently have as she would only want to be in the water. She gets a bit nutty around the water and LOVES to swim. Our last lab, probably. She used to ride a jet-ski with Rick. Talk about adorable.

    • I would have loved to see that, I told my husband about it and he cracked up. Boomer would probably ride on a jet ski but once we started it, he’d bolt. He’s afraid of any loud noises. LOL, He’s the gentle giant! 🙂

      • Yeah, our former lab Cuervo was (no joke) completely in love with Rick. She would do anything he would do. He jumped a 40 foot cliff into the reservoir one time and we all gasped as we thought she was going to follow him (thankfully we talked her down). I think if that shows true love, perhaps she loved him more than I (?) . I never had any intentions of jumping from that high!! LOL.

  4. What a wonderful day! That looks so happy and full of just pure simple joy! I love the lego cake too, but your cookie cake is definitely calling my name….frosting and cookies…two amazing things becoming one even better. Love that they call you flower too 🙂
