Two weeks off and no more lifting boats…oh my…

So yesterday, I decided to try to run a bit….yeah, I know.

What I actually did was probably more like what I’d call woggling. I walked, jogged, hobbled, limped, walked, jogged, oh and I might have run for about 11 seconds. It was ugly. Even if I would have wanted to run, I knew I couldn’t and the worst part of the entire debacle was limping past the other runners in my neighborhood. The very same people I pass on a regular basis and we all sort of smile or wave to each other, but now that I’m woggling, they give me that look. You’ve seen it before:

I only got 3 miles in, and later in the day I could barely move. I’m not messing around anymore. This is a serious issue so I’m taking a full two weeks off, I have no choice.

But it’s not just running, I’m taking time off from, I can’t really do any exercise other than very light walking or light weights. If ya’ll want to hold me accountable go right ahead….April 21, 2014 is my target date.

😉 And MacGyver, I promise not to lift up the boat again, but I did do it, and I made it for at least 3 seconds, so I win! When are you ever going to learn that you should never tell me I can’t do something?

  2. Flower I’m so sorry that you’re having such a hard time with your injury! Stick to your no exercise for 2 weeks no matter how much you want to run….. I miss you though… Iron Girl will totally miss you

    • Can I call you this weekend? We want to come see you guys. This year is our 30th anniversary and we want to see you and MacGyver. Please take it easy with the running. We miss you tons!

  3. Take it easy and save some Flower for us if we come to visit! We have to go fishing and try out my new salt water fly rod. You will get hooked. 🙂

  4. Oh, no…what a bummer! I am so sorry. Injuries just flat out suck and I know exactly how you feel 🙁 You can do it. You can take the needed rest and get yourself back. Believe it. It might not be easy but it will be worth it!!!
