Hey from Venice. We are down here for the weekend. We got here late yesterday afternoon.
We were pretty hungry by the time we unloaded the car and put all our things away so MacGyver and I decided to try a restaurant that we haven’t tried before, the Left Coast Seafood Co.
We got a half order of onion rings for an appetizer, yes, that’s a Half Order! I had a Caesar Salad and MacGyver had the Fish Chowder (which had no shellfish, we had to ask because I’m allergic) and it was incredible. I have no idea what they put in that soup but honey let me tell you, it was pure heaven.
For dinner, MacGyver had a Crab Sandwich and I had the Chicken Pasta and they were both awesome.
If you ever come anywhere near Venice, Florida you must go to the Left Coast Seafood Co. Best food at the best price, I swear. Be prepared to wait a little while because they are super busy and the service is a wee bit slow but it is worth it.
And while you wait you can check this out:
This morning I woke up early and ran 14 epic miles on the Legacy Trail.
It truly was the best long run I have in ages. The temperature was around 54 degrees, the humidity was not high and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. But the reason it was such an awesome run is because I had a goal to pace myself at 10:30 a mile for 14 miles without stopping and I nailed it! For the last few months I’ve been breaking up my long runs into either 2 or 3 parts and I’ll stop and drink water for a minute or two along the way. Unfortunately, my times were all over the place and I was getting migraines afterward and my form was off toward the end on every one of those runs. But not today. Today was perfect. And I felt so good afterwards, I came back to the house and mowed the lawn before we went out on the boat.
I hope tomorrow’s run is the same. Today I really loved running more than ever….
What are you doing this weekend?
