It’s Funny Friday!

Happy Friday!

I’m still not running. I thought I would just go ahead and throw that out there in case you’re wondering. What I am doing is watching far too many home improvement shows and eating far too much ice cream. It looks pretty much like this lately:

But at least it’s warm here and we don’t have to worry about bad weather like snow, even though it’s supposed to be the best ‘texture’ to run in according to this person:

I am sort of worried though because I never take a lot of time off from running. Except for my Achilles injury which happened ages ago, I never take off more than a few days. I’m a little worried that when I am ready to run again, it might go something like this:

I’m seriously going to work on my running form because I think if I can improve it just a little, I can avoid any future injuries. I’m thinking this guy has the perfect form:

The absolute worst part of being injured is that I have this new outfit to run in and I don’t want to wear it unless I can do a long run or wear it in a race. Do you do that to? Or is it just me? This is the outfit:

cute running clothes

Cute, right? And I cannot wait until I can run again because I’m almost positive, I’ll get a reaction like this:

Oh Gurl

Now tell me this, do you save your new running clothes for special occasions or just wear them anytime, even when you aren’t running?

Do you like my new outfit?

Do you think Strong is the new Beautiful? I do!

    • 🙂 I feel the same way about my shirt from the Sarasota half. it’s the coolest race shirt ever, seriously, I love it.

  1. I like strong being the new beautiful. I where the same brand and color shirt for every race. Wife doesn’t like me to where running clothes when not running.

  2. LOVE that shirt! And it’s so true!
I usually wear my running clothes only when running or working out. I do have a pretty green shirt that I like to wear every now and then when I’m not working out.

    Thanks for the Friday funnies!

    • Your welcome! I bought that shirt to remind me to do my strength training and all I want to do is run in it, lol 🙂

  3. I’m afraid I’ve devolved into wearing nothing but running or yoga clothes most of the time these days, but the first time you wear them HAS to be to run in them. No clue why, but it has to be. 🙂

  4. When are you planning to run again? My TFL is cranky so have taken 2 days off so far. Hoping to run on Monday! If this makes you feel any better, I took 9 days off in February while on vacation and coming back wasn’t too bad. Got a little sore that week but nothing crazy. HANG IN THERE!!

    • I’m supposed to do a 3K tomorrow but I’m not sure I’m going to be able to. I’m shooting for Monday too! I’ll let you know how it goes. I hope you get to run on Monday too! Not running makes me cranky and sort of hard to live with according to my family. (Secretly, I love to torture them on occasion.)

      • I can get down, too. I am not proud of it, but I have cried in the past when I have been injured. Kind of lame. It’s a challenge but I also don’t want to have a chronic issue because I didn’t just take the time. 4 days is better than 4 months and I am speaking from experience. If I feel good tomorrow I might ride my bike but I just keep reminding myself, this will pass and your body will heal. Sending good thoughts to you 🙂 WE CAN DO THIS!!

          • I knew because we truly are the only ones that “get it”. I don’t run a lot (about 12-15 miles per week) but it’s enough endorphins that when I can’t do it, I go thru withdrawal. Seriously takes every ounce of energy to keep resting my body right now and in my past I have caved and gone out and run and then regretted it. Trying to be smart at 42 years old. Let’s do it together! Then go out and run and wear cool running clothes 🙂
