10 Miles for Meg in pictures….

Hey there. How is your weekend going so far?

This morning I ran 10 miles for Meg. I hope you were able to run too. I ran by myself and turned the music off about a quarter mile into the run and I just enjoyed the beauty of everything around me. Oh, and I took lots and lots of pictures. It was a cold but otherwise beautiful day.

And here it is, I hope you enjoy it:

It was cold and breezy when I left this morning…

Ream Wilson Trail

This is the bridge over McMullen Booth Rd. It’s a fairly good incline but it’s not really long.

A winding part of the trail where I once saw 3 coyotes…hard to believe, I know…

This is one of the biggest hills of the trail though you can’t tell in the pictures…

This is one of my favorite parts of the trail. I always try but always fail to break the speed limit at this part, but one day, I’ll break it.

Last year all of the sea grass burnt down during July 4th but it was replanted and grew back really fast.

Can you see the bird down on the rocks? I think it might be a cormorant…but I’m not sure.

Kapok Park, this is where I end my run…

Did you run today? Was it a long run? Where did you run?

  1. I ran both Saturday and Sunday! 7 miles for Meg on the trails on Saturday and 11 miles this morning. It was great to run a long a road that was recently closed to “through-traffic” today. Although the change was intended to benefit cyclist, it makes it safer for everybody who uses the street as there are no longer cars speeding by.

  2. Lucky! šŸ™‚
I ran on our treadmill :-/
the only nice looking trail nearby is about a 15 min drive. And quite a few people have gotten mugged or beat up while walking it. I only like to go if my husband can go too. I used to do kenpo from p90x but I highly doubt that will protect me.

    • Dang! Mugged or beat up, that is some scary ish. I think in that situation I would run with my trusty little rugerLCP .380 Wow, does that even remotely translate how much I hate the treadmill, LOL

      • Yeah..we live in one of the most dangerous counties..but there are still really nice places to live, just a lot of gangs here. Nothing compared to places like Compton Ca but still dangerous. Our county is ranked 88th in Us as most dangerous places to live.. not bragging by any means. Just sayin you need to be street smart to live around here.

        • I hear ya. I think there are a lot of places like that unfortunately. Even the places you once thought were soo safe, not so much anymore. It’s sad really.
