Run a half marathon and go fish!

Hey from Venice, the one in Florida.

I don’t know why the time flies by so fast when we’re down here, but it does. I guess that’s always the case when you take a little vacay.

I ran the Sal Half Marathon this morning.

Running the Sal Half MarathonI had a blast! Let me just say, it was one of the best half Mary’s I’ve ever run and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was a bit cool this morning and foggy but it was really good weather for a half. I’ll do a full recap and review tomorrow.

And of course, what do you do after you run a half marathon…..you go fishing!
fishing in veniceIn your Pro Compression Socks, because that’s what all the cool fisherman are wearing these days. Unless you’re a canine fisherman and in that case you sport a cool black and blue, dogs rule hoodie:

Boomer on the boatThe dogs absolutely love the boat. It was a bit chilly out there today and we had no luck with the fishing but we had a great time as always. Some of the residents even have Christmas trees and lights on their docks already. It was still pretty light when we came in but I did manage to get a picture of one little Christmas tree.
Christmas Tree on dockYeah, I know, it’s kind of puny and it lacks the spendor of my gaudy decorations but hey, it’s a freakin Christmas Tree on a dock in the Gulf of Mexico for crying out loud…it is what it is!

Hope you all had a beautiful holiday weekend surrounded by friends and family.

Did you stay home this weekend or did you go on a trip? Did you run a race?

  1. I can’t wait to hear your review of your half marathon. I am still really nervous about mine, and it is all the way out in February. It also looks like you are having a lot of fun on your vacation, and your dogs are absolutely adorable.

    • Thanks Krysten. We are having a great time and I’ll be a little sad to have to come home later this afternoon. I’m would love to hear about your half marathon, I’m sure you’ll rock it, but promise you’ll come back and tell me how it went, okay? And just remember, have fun. That’s the best advice anyone ever gave me, and it is so true. Have fun and enjoy it and you’ll do awesome.
