Ya’ll it’s hot and humid here. I’m so over this weather and I’m a little concerned because I have another half marathon to run on Sunday and this girl just hates running in hot and humid weather. I really do.
I planned on doing a long run on Saturday but it was raining, actually no, it was pouring. I don’t mind running in a little rain but downpours, not so much. Instead I ran on the treadmill but I only pounded out three and a half miles because, let’s face it, I hate the treadmill more than downpours.
Afterwards, MacGyver and I did a little grocery shopping and then spent most of the day emulating our dogs.
My dogs hate it when it’s raining and they don’t get to go for their walks. Forget that they have a fairly large yard to run around in and lots of toys to play with, they want walks.
This morning the weather was much better, it was still raining a little but it was very light and so I headed out to attempt a long run.
I managed to pound out twelve miles and believe me I was shocked I even got that far. I took quite a few walk breaks and I was sweating profusely. It doesn’t bother me but I hate the looks I get from those non-sweating people, as if sweating were some sort of disease and I am seriously contagious.
If you’re one of those people, I apologize, but you non-sweating creatures are the antithesis of running as far as I’m concerned. You’re abnormal. That’s all.
When I got home today, my dogs were a little peeved at having to wait for me. I got a very similar reaction as this guy got when I walked in the door:
So I took the dogs on a walk. They are much happier now.
Sunday night is one of the only nights that I look forward to TV since Breaking Bad ended. Why? Uh, Daryl Dixon, that’s why.
If I can channel Daryl Dixon for this next race, I should do just fine. I may even kill it, heh he.
What’s one thing you just can’t miss on TV? Why?
The one thing I can’t miss on TV is the The Walking Dead. My wife hates it but I love it, and that’s after watching a day of football. I love this time of year!
Right? Sunday is like the best day ever! Fortunately my husband and I both love football AND the Walking Dead so Sundays are like party days to us 🙂
My wife can tolerate football but the TWD…I think she needs to see an episode. She only hears the moans and groans from the walkers and instantly turned off. This might become a pet project of mine to convert her to a fan. Wish me luck.
Good luck! I think you can do it. I used to watch it and think, meh, but then the Governor appeared….LOL
I think the older I get three more I sweat when I run. Or maybe I just never noticed when I was younger.
Oh my Gosh, I think the exact same thing. Jeez, I can only imagine what it will be like when I’m 50, holy sweat shower!
Love the comment about non-sweaters. When I used to live in Phoenix, I would do my long runs on Sunday morning and then afterwards pop into a local bakery for breakfast. Since it was Sunday, everyone else was dressed in their Church clothes and I always, always got weird looks.
Good luck on your next half! I dislike running in hot, humid weather, too….but I also dislike running in the 30 degree weather we’ve been having lately in Colorado!
Ouch! 30 degrees would probably kill me dead. I would still sweat but it would freeze over and then I would die of hypothermia. I bet running in Colorado is beautiful though….
Lol so funny about non sweaters. I don’t sweat much and it makes me self conscious at the gym that people think I’m not working hard enough. Lol! I don’t think of it as abnormal to sweat a lot, but rather you are pushing your body, and why the heck am I not sweating more!?
LOL, secretly I’m jealous of the people who don’t sweat that much. I look like I went for a swim when I walk to the gosh darn mailbox, it’s frightful, really!
