I ran OVER Tampa Bay, and I took pictures.

Once again I ran the new bridge ya’ll and it was even better than the first time and I didn’t think that was even possible. It is now my absolute favorite running route, for real.

We had a cold front that blew through last night so when I woke up this morning it was only 63 degrees! Yeah, I know! Because it’s going to be breezy and cooler today, I could leave a little later so I headed out at around 7:35 and I got to the bridge at 7:50.

I mean really, does it get any better than that? Seriously, I live here. I am a lucky girl! # Blessed.

I ran the first mile while taking quite a few pics and I wanted them to be really good so I stopped quite a bit. Otherwise, they would have been blurry because I’m a bouncy runner.

This first part of mile one takes you over the bridge which is epic. I finished mile 1 in 11:40. I wasn’t worried about time, I just wanted to enjoy myself and take lots of pictures.

I ran mile 2 in 9:29 while admiring the beautiful sunrise. It was breezy today and cool and I ran the first 4 miles in a jacket. Can you believe that? A Jacket. I’m still shocked.

Mile 3, I stopped to take some more pics. I really couldn’t help myself.

I still managed to finish mile 3 in 10:10 but by this time, I really had to pee. Bad. Don’t you hate it when that happens, it’s so hard to get back in the rhythm because all you can do is look for a port o potty or bathroom or whatever.

There was no bathroom anywhere near so I kept going and I took some more pictures. (Aren’t you lucky?)

I finally spotted a port o potty and jumped in, (sorry, no pictures) and I finished mile 4 in 11:58, now I needed to get home so I decided to only stop for the best pics and try to make better time.

Mile 5 was finished in 9:07, Mile 6 in 9:03 and I took these shots:

Hogans Beach Tampa Bay

The place on the left with tiki huts and the red and green is Hulk Hogan’s restaurant, (Hogan’s Beach). I’ve been there once and it was really good. I’d definitely recommend it. You can even go there by boat which is pretty cool.

Tampa Bay Causeway

This is another restaurant on the causeway. I’ve eaten there before too but apparently it wasn’t all that good because I cannot for the life of me remember the name of this place.

I finished mile 7 in 8:50. Mile 8 was the home stretch and I had to run back over the bridge. I decided to slow it down a little and cool down at the end so I ended mile 8 at 9:30. My total run time was 1:19:47 for 8 miles. The time could have been better but the scenery was unbeatable!

I took a little video at mile 1 but it’s kind of shaky (because I’m such a bouncy runner) and it was seriously windy but you can see for yourself. I hope it doesn’t give you a headache.

I wish I could have taken every single one of you on that run this morning, it truly was the highlight of my day and I would have loved for you to see it.

Where did you run today? How was the scenery?
