Another half marathon and the Uh Oh bird that lives in my tree

No time to rest.

This Sunday I have another half marathon, the Blue Moon Half Marathon in Ozona, Florida. Fortunately, this one starts at 7:30am and it’s after daylight savings time begins so I get to sleep in an extra hour. Unfortunately it’s already started to heat back up here and tomorrow and Thursday will be in the high 80’s so I’m worried about the weather on Sunday. I cannot run fast in hot weather for long distances. I just can’t, regardless of the beer that’s waiting for me at the finish line. If you want me to run fast in the heat you better be giving out diamonds.

Anyway, as it stands right now, this is the weather forecast:

If it stays like this, I’ll be okay with it because Sunday looks tolerable.

As far as training goes, I’m continuing with the shopping regimen. It seems to be working for me so far. I did run 6 miles on Monday and I’ll probably start running again tomorrow but I’m also going to get in as many cross training shopping sessions as I can before Sunday. I know, I’m evil, I can’t help myself.

I took it easy today, chillaxin under my Jacaranda tree and I spotted this little guy:

That’s a cormorant. He actually lives in the jacaranda tree and he talks a lot. It sounds like he says ‘uh oh’. It cracks me up. It’s pretty cool to see him dive into the water for food. They are actually pretty amazing birds.

Allright, that’s all I got for now.

Have you ever run two big races back to back? How’d it go?
