Last Saturday I ran 3 miles, Sunday I ran 5 miles. I took Monday and Tuesday off and Wednesday I ran 5 miles and today I ran just shy of 6 miles.
I know I started running a little earlier than I said I was going to but I was super excited to try out my new Brooks PureFlow 2’s and so I did.
Let me just start off by saying, Damn these shoes are reflective, right? I guess I need to wear matching clothing and then I could probably safely run at 3AM, or not but since I’ve now run in these shoes on four occasions and almost 20 miles, I’m ready to talk about them.
The Brooks Pureflow 2’s are minimal running shoes for neutral runners. They are incredibly light weight and feature asymmetrical lacing and a new tongue design which is very comfortable, (I particularly like that feature). Even though they are light weight they provide enough cushioning that I would feel totally comfortable wearing them on long runs and they are flexible and sturdy enough for speedwork.
I would say this shoe runs a bit large. I normally wear a 7.5 or an 8.0 depending on the shoe but a 7.5 was plenty roomy for me. For a light shoe they are still fast, flexible, and comfortable. I think this will be my new daily go to shoe.
The only thing that remains to be seen is how many miles I’ll get out of this shoe……but for now it’s safe to say that the Brooks Pureflow 2’s make me:
What’s your daily go to shoe?
